The analysis of every liminar space must also include the last phrase of a text. To this effect I propose a new methodological tool for a better understanding of the communicative situation of every text. In the case of Fray Gerundio de Campazas, the perfect destroys the historiographic contract proposed in the author's prologue and forces the text into a hermeneutic drift that has greater significance for the satirical scope required to neutralise the ideological stance.
