Dažnuminė tikimybės interpretacija

Abstract

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamos kai kurios problemos, su kuriomis susiduria objektine kalba formuluojama dažnuminė tikimybės interpretacija. Glaustai apžvelgiama šios koncepcijos susiformavimo istorija. J. Vennas pirmą kartą modifikavo tikimybės interpretaciją laikydamas tikimybę riba, prie kurios artėja santykiniai dažnumai poklasiuose, kai poklasių narių skaičius neapibrėžtai didėja. Autorius kritikuoja kai kuriuos priekaištus dažnuminei koncepcijai, pvz., kad ji nesugeba analizuoti atskiro įvykio tikimybės, kad nėra skirtumo tarp referencijos klasės specifikacijos ir duomenų klasės pasirinkimo ir pan. Teigiama, atskiro įvykio tikimybės problema dažnuminei koncepcijai yra ne teorinio, o praktinio pobūdžio, nes teoriškai klausimas išsprendžiamas, jei atskirą įvykį laikome reprezentuojančiu tam tikrą klasę, reikia tik nurodyti, kaip praktiškai tą klasę išskirti. Dažnuminė koncepcija leidžia įvertinti, ar reikšminga informacija yra panaudojama efektyviai, eksperimentinių (stebėjimo) rezultatų pagalba koreguojant tikimybės įvertinimus. Pagrindinis sunkumas, su kuriuo susiduria ši koncepcija, yra empiriškai generuotos sekos santykinių dažnumų ribos nustatymas.
