
La familia Tiliaceae es reconocida en el Perú por presentar 11 géneros y 29 especies (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993; Ulloa Ulloa et al., 2004), principalmente arbustos y árboles. En este trabajo, esta familia se adiciona a la flora endémica con un endemismo en el género Neotessmannia. Esta especie se distribuye en la región Bosques Húmedos Amazónicos, desconociéndose el rango altitudinal. No está representada dentro del Sistema Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado.
