Managing existence requires the use of lying as a key tool in everyday life. The usefulness that one extracts from it varies greatly in scope. Lying has long been regelated to a mere problem of morality, but the true question of lying resides in its ontological status. Deception –self-deception first and foremost– is a way of managing the peculiar existence given to us.
