Abstract

Gazi Mustafa Kemal Trabzon’a ilk ziyaretini 1924’te, ikincisini ise 1930’da yapmisti. Cesitli sehirlerde oldugu gibi, Trabzon’da da Gazi Mustafa Kemal’e 1931 yilinda bir kosk ile bir ev hediye edildi. Ataturk, sadece 1937’deki ucuncu Trabzon ziyaretinde iki gun kaldigi kosku begenmis ve kosk icin “Trabzon Ataturk Kosku” adini kullanmisti. Bu kisa sure icinde koskte onemli anlar yasandi: Ataturk koskten 11 Haziran 1937’de Ismet Inonu’ye gonderdigi yaziyla, ciftliklerini Hazineye bagisladigini duyurmustu; Gece koskte heyetlerle birlikteyken duydugu mutlulugu da, “Hayatimin animsayabildigim en sevincli dakikalarini yasiyorum.” seklinde aciklamisti. Ataturk Ismet Inonu’ye ayni gece gonderdigi telgrafinda, duydugu bu sevinci Meclise aciklanmasini istemis ve “Trabzon Ataturk Kosku”nde heyetlerle beraber gecirmekte oldugu “samimi hayatin devlet, hukumet ve millet istirakinin en yuksek ornegi oldugunu” yazmisti. Ataturk’un vefatindan sonra kosk ve ev, kanuni varisi olan kiz kardesi Makbule Boysan’a kaldi. Onemli anlarin yasandigi bu kosku, Makbule Boysan’in satmak icin girisimde bulunmasi uzerine, Trabzon Belediyesi 21 Mart 1940’da, Ataturk’un hatirasini yasatmak uzere kosku muze haline getirilmek icin istimlâk karari aldi. Istimlâk icin yasanan mahkeme surecinden sonra, kosk ve ev 17 Nisan 1943’te Trabzon Belediyesi adina tapuya kaydedildi. Trabzon Belediyesi ayni ay baslattigi calismayla kosku muze haline getirdi. 1974’te bahcesi buyuk oranda kucultulmus olan Ataturk Kosku, gunumuzde de muze olarak hizmet vermektedir.
