Seljuks who came across Byzantine, Greek, Roman and Armcnian culturcs in Anatolia developed an original, many-sided and rich arclîitectural style of their own which, although mainly influenced by Islamic art and Central Asian tradition, nevcrthcless contains clements of earlier Anatolian civilizations, notably Roman and Byzan tine arts. In Anatolian Seljuk arehitecture, we thus find an intelligent and Creative synthesis of the nomadic art of their native Central Asia, pre-Seljuk Anatolian Islamic art and certain elements from Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Armenian arts.
