<span>This paper discusses the impact of new technology on education. It is concerned with new technology as a method of delivery, a subject and an object of education. Nigel Paine argues that, if the educational world does not respond to the new networks being established and the new curriculum areas being developed, then alternative means of formal and informal learning will develop. The whole issue of innovation in education is discussed looking at centralist or devolved models for educational development.</span>
