Annotazioni sui fondamenti epistemologici della narratologia

Abstract

A reflection on the epistemological foundation of narratology is very much needed today, since our theoretical activity is deeply influenced by its underlying assumptions. Terms, definitions, models, theories are never chosen and formulated in a neutral way, they always bring about some consequences in their application, in the development of a discipline, and in their adaptivity to the context. In particular, the differences between two basic epistemological paradigms are outlined, the objectivist and the constructivist one, bringing forth several arguments in favour of the latter.
