Abstract

Il concetto di empowerment e un costrutto molto importante nello sviluppo teorico della psicologia di comunita. L’obbiettivo del presente articolo e analizzare i componenti di questo complesso concetto che parte dalla concezione della ricerca-azione sviluppata da Lewin. L’empowerment si riferisce ad una condizione di dominio o autorita, esso e in relazione sia con il controllo dell’individuo sulla propria vita e con il senso psicologico di controllo personale, cosi come con la partecipazione nella vita comunitaria e l’acquisizione delle risorse. E un costrutto multilivello applicabile tanto agli individui come alle organizzazioni. Cio conduce allo studio delle persone nel loro ambiente. Il concetto si sviluppa anche con l’intenzione di ampliare il campo di azione degli interventi comunitari e propone direttrici pratiche dirette ad incrementare il potere della comunita.
