From the analysis of a corpus of rap songs published in 2020, we will observe words from argot and verlan, two frequent phenomena in rap and in a diastratic variety also called « français contemporain des cités » (FCC), source of contemporary «parler jeune». The analysis will focus more specifically on the words in verlan, whose transcription we will analyse, as they raise interesting questions about the relationship between oral French and written French.
