Abstract

Il saggio costituisce un apporto per una storia sociale della produzione artistica nella Roma del Settecento. Vengono messi in rilievo il carattere cosmopolita dei committenti nell'Urbe e il valore simbolico attribuito anche alle arti decorative. Il testo è accompagnato dalla trascrizione di un manoscritto del Museo Centrale del Risorgimento di Roma con una biografia inedita del celebre artista e orafo romano Luigi Valadier
