The paper argues that the fierce political struggle between Polybios and Phylarchus is ‘hidden’ by Polybios behind topics referred to Phylarchus’ historiographical method, but in the attacks against Phylarchus Polybios’criticism stems from a strong contrast of contents, because Phylarchos supported Sparta and Kleomenes III, Polybios the Achaean League and Aratos.
