Abstract

En el derecho canónico actual el Romano Pontífice puede disolver el matrimonio no sacramental en determinados casos “en favor de la fe”. El origen de esta praxis se relaciona generalmente con una afirmación del Apóstol Pablo, que sería su fundamento remoto. En el presente artículo se busca esclarecer el momento concreto en que esta praxis aparece justificada en el derecho canónico y los motivos que condujeron a tipificar en el privilegio in favorem fidei una excepción a la indisolubilidad de los matrimonios naturales.
