Il territorio di Romualdo e Pier Damiani

Abstract

La storia del territorio è passibile di due tipi complementari di indagine: l'analisi dei processi di mutazione delle strutture insistenti nello spazio (sistemi insediativi e di produzione, ecc.), e l'analisi della percezione che dei luoghi hanno coloro che li abitano. La storiografia degli ultimi anni riguardante il territorio di Romualdo, di Pier Damiani e delle loro congregazioni monastiche, si è sviluppata proprio seguendo i due percorsi costituiti dalla storia delle strutture e dalla storia delle rappresentazioni culturali, proponendo delle sintesi di questo binomio interpretativo. In questo articolo vengono proposte alcune riflessioni, concentrando l'attenzione prevalentemente sugli aspetti culturali della storia del territorio.
