12, 3 e in Sol. 52, 44.
Solinus, in the description of the Indian parrot (52, 43-45), had as source, beside Plinius (nat. 10, 117-119), also Apuleius (flor. 12, 1-7). Solinus, like Apuleius, erroneously gives the parrot characteristics that Plinius gives the pica; Plinius and Apuleius are contaminated in the text of Solinus; Apuleius and Solinus share stylistic and lexical choices. In this respect, the use of the word clavicula, that, as diminutive of clava, is only in Apul. flor. 12, 3 and in Sol. 52, 44, is decisive. Further argument is the widespread and significance presence of Apuleius also elsewhere in the Collectanea rerum memorabilium.
