Abstract

Si traccia un profilo dell’attività critica e teorica di Boris Michajlovicˇ Èjchenbaum (1886- 1959) con particolare attenzione alla ricerca di specificazione dei criteri stilistico-compositivi sottesi ai singoli generi, ricerca caratteristica del periodo di militanza formalista. Individuato il fondamento ritmico-melodico quale tratto distintivo dello stile poetico e quale suo principio di analisi, l’intonazione e le sue diverse varietà costituiscono per lo studioso russo oggetto privilegiato d’indagine tanto nello studio del verso – con i problemi di declamazione che ne conseguono –, quanto nella teoria della prosa, e sollecitano riflessioni che saranno proprie del formalismo maturo e lasciate in eredità alla teoria letteraria del secondo Novecento.
