Application of Micro-lecture in the Teaching Method Reform of Fashion Chromatology

Abstract

Fashion chromatology is one of the fundamental courses of art design major. As it is comparatively theoretical and practical, fashion chromatology is significant in linking the teaching of fashion courses. It is not only the extension and development of style design course, but also the preparation and basis for fabrics design course. Micro-lecture, as a newly-emerged teaching mode featured by tininess, shortness and refinedness, has brought more contents, interest and changes to the classroom teaching under the background of “micro-age”. Videos of micro-lectures are normally short and vivid, with senses of sight and hearing complementing each other, which will play a positive role in arousing art students’ enthusiasm of learning, and bring new opportunities for the development of higher education. Based on advantages of micro-lecture teaching method, and combined with the content and features of fashion chromatology, this paper introduces the application and functions of micro-lectures in the teaching of fashion chromatology. Micro-age is an age that is represented by micro-blog, we-chat, and short film, et al., and with centralization, dynamization, fragmentation, and timeliness as main communication features. Dissemination pattern of information has turned from linear dissemination of “point-to-surface’ into meshed dissemination of “point-to-point”, resulting in the unity of media and communications, dissemination and acceptance, and information and life. Micro-lecture is a newly-emerged teaching mode in the teaching field. Featured by tininess, shortness and refinedness, micro-lecture has brought more contents, interest and changes to the classroom teaching under the background of “micro-age”. Videos of micro-lectures are normally short and vivid, with senses of sight and hearing complementing each other, which will play a positive role in arousing art students’ enthusiasm of learning, and enable students to obtain the best learning effect through self-study. Through elaborative teaching design, the teacher carries out brief but complete teaching activity centered on a certain knowledge point or teaching procedure in the form of stream media, which will help improve students’ performing ability, the ability of combining theory with practice and participation consciousness.
