AbstractThis article offers a programmatically inductive reading of a late poem by Lorca as a way of both disarming and contributing to the discussion about the nature of 'gay poetry'. It is hoped that in the process it may shed some light on one or two of Lorca's central concerns and the exceptional craftsmanship by which they are inscribed in his verse. Questions of symbolism and context are also briefly touched on — but the central focus is passionately and unashamedly the poem itself.
