The author of this essay activates Bronwyn Davies’s conceptualization of listening as usual and listening emergently, along with Deleuze’s imaginary for ontology, as a means to enter into composition with children’s being and becoming in drawing. In doing so, the author argues for a concept and practice of listening that resonates with the entangled and complicated existence it has in our lives, an existence that is, like drawing, a truly precarious and teetering materiality.
