
Oral examination often reveals the presence of gingival or mucosal swelling. This swelling may be exostosis, cystic, hyperplastic or neoplastic tissue. This case report describes a diagnosis and surgical treatment of an odontogenic cyst. Odontogenic cysts can be classified depending on the stage in odontogenesis when cyst formation occurs. A table describing the features of odontogenic cysts is presented.
