The name Miconia grandifolia Ule is a later homonym of M. grandifolia D.Don. We replace Miconia grandifolia Ule with Miconia grandifoliata. Miconia anderssonii Wurdack is another name that must be considered as previously occupied, even if the previous name, Miconia andersonii Fawc. & Rendle, has an epithet with only a slightly different spelling. We propose M. lennartanderssonii as its replacement. Miconia corazonica Gilli is a later homonym of Miconia corazonica Wurdack, but since we consider the first species to be a heterotypic synonym of Miconia asclepiadea, a new name is not required. The monotypic genus Icaria has been considered a synonym of Miconia for a long while, but the necessary combination of Icaria fictilis as Miconia fictilis had not been published, a problem also resolved here. We also provide lectotypifications for Miconia grandifoliata and Miconia asclepiadea.
