Abstract

Malte Rolf jest od 2012 roku profesorem historii Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej na Uniwersytecie Ottona Friedricha w Bambergu. Tego samego roku uzyskał habilitację na Uniwersytecie Humboldta w Berlinie na podstawie rozprawy będącej przedmiotem niniejszej recenzji. (...) Zgodnie z założeniem „podejścia sytuacyjnego", w przeciwieństwie do Zernacka, który programem swych badań objął ponadtysiącletnią historię stosunków polsko-rosyjskich, Rolf ogranicza się do okresu od upadku powstania styczniowego do wybuchu I wojny światowej, uznając (podobnie jak Kappeler) klęskę kolejnego, trzeciego już (wliczając powstanie kościuszkowskie) zrywu narodowego lat 1863-1864 za punkt zwrotny, moment zasadniczej zmiany w polityce imperialnej wielonarodowościowej Rosji nie tylko wobec Królestwa Polskiego, ale i innych, wchodzących w skład monarchii części.
