Abstract

El objeto de este trabajo es hacer una breve presentación de los fundamentos del movimiento de Acceso abierto e ilustrar con cifras su repercusión en las publicaciones medico científicas españolas. La población estudiada son 127 revistas médicas españolas accesibles gratuitamente a texto completo. Se presentan resultados sobre las siguientes variables: presencia en la web de la revista de información para los autores y sobre los derechos del autor; vinculación de las revistas con el movimiento de acceso abierto, presencia de la revistas de acceso abierto en el DOAJ, inclusión de la revista en alguna plataforma de acceso abierto (Scielo, Revicien, Tecnociencia o Imbiomed); circulación de las revistas en bases de datos biomédicas internacionales (PubMed y Embase) y nacionales (IME y IBECS), evolución del factor de impacto de las revistas en el periodo 2000-2005 y periodicidad y puntualidad de la actualización de los contenidos de las revistas.

The object of this work is to make a brief presentation of the foundations of the Open Access movement and to illustrate with numbers its repercussion in the Spanish medical journals. 127 scientific Spanish medical journals which content was freely available were studied. Results appear on the following variables: Existence on the journal Web of information about author rights; Journal adhesion to the Open Access Movement; Inclusion of the Journal in an open access platform (Scielo, Revicien, e-revistas, or Imbiomed); Open Access medical Spanish journals presence at the DOAJ; Circulation in international biomedical databases (PubMed and Embase) and national databases (IME and IBECS); Evolution of journal impact factor in the period 2000-2005 and timeliness of the update of the journal contents.
