Approximate methods for solving a class of linear integro-differential equations of the Fredholm type are discussed. The integro-differential equations are reduced to Fredholm integral equations and Nystrom’s method is used to establish numerical procedures. A convergence theorem is given for a simple integro-differential equation. Extensions of the method to more complicated cases are indicated.
