Abstract

APART from several obvious reasons for failure of triclabendazole to control liver fluke infections, which can be summarised as misdosing, Fairweather (2011) suggested that reduced metabolism, as a result of liver damage, might be important. Following a serious incident of triclabendazole failure in central Wales, we would like to question how far liver damage is relevant in the diagnosis of triclabendazole resistance.
