Abstract

I READ with some surprise that the newly founded British Veterinary Union (BVU) is aiming to enlist veterinary students to its membership ( VR , July 23, 2011, vol 169, p 90). Veterinary students in the UK and Ireland already have access to three bodies of representation: the Association of Veterinary Students of Great Britain and Ireland (AVS); the BVA; and the National Union of Students (NUS).
