Abstract

ICELAND has few pig farms, numbering 22 farms with a total of approximately 4200 sows, and a little fewer than 84,000 pigs slaughtered in 2008. there are no nucleus or multiplier herds in Iceland. Pigs are imported from norway and after quarantine the animals are allocated to the pig farms. the
