Abstract

This study evaluates the propensity of individuals to taking on debt in the Federal District (Brazil). We evaluate the influence of behavioral factors (organization and marketing) and economic and demographic profile (income, education, age, gender and marital status) as an explanation for the propensity for indebtedness. A probit regression model was used. The database was drawn from a field survey which collected information with a questionnaire administered to 621 individuals residing in the Federal District.
