Microsporum canis with Polymorphous Macroconidia

Abstract

Summary: An atypical strain of Microsporum canis was isolated in our laboratory, which was characterized by a variety of polymorphous macroconidia. These are demonstrated by illustrations. Based on our observation and literature, the relationship between Microsporum canis and Microsporum distortum is discussed. Epi‐demiologic aspects are mentioned.Zusammenfassung: Ein in unserem Labor isolierter, atypischer Microsporum ca‐nis‐Stamm zeichnete sich durch eine gro‐Be Formenvielfalt der Makrokonidien aus, die in Abbildungen gezeigt werden. An Hand dieser Beobachtung und der Litera‐tur wird die Beziehung zwischen Microsporum canis und Microsporum distorturn erortert. Epidemiologische Aspekte werden angesprochen.
