The objective of this paper is to present a new method to control the TNPC inverter with output LC filter based on the Predictive controller. Furthermore, the balance voltage capacitors is also obtained with the proposed method. The model of the system is used to establish the equations, which can be applied to calculate the future values of the load voltage and the dc-link capacitor voltages at the next sampling time. After that, the optimal voltage vectors that minimize both the load voltage and the dc-link capacitor voltages error which are chosen for the next switching state of the TNPC inverter. Obtained simulation and experimental results verified the theoretical analysis and demonstrated that the load voltage is almost sinusoidal in steady-state operation regardless the load is linear or not.
