This paper introduces two modified Class E circuits to achieve low crest factor of lamp current. By integrating flyback topology with Class E converter, the modified circuits can achieve improved lamp current crest factor, and still maintain high power factor and zero-voltage-switching features in conventional Class E converter. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the theoretical operation.
