
The library is definitely one of the most visited place in a university. The main objective of this research is to develop a mobile application to make students stay more connected with the library. Research has been carried out to know the main problems faced by students in the library. The system developed tackles the problems of finding free seats, as well as keeping bags safe by automating a locker. Besides, the application also provide students a way of filtering their seats to know if seats are available on the same table. Additionally, if seats are not available when filtering, students can get a notification as soon as the seats are available. Furthermore, the main door at the entrance in the library has been automated. The smart system will also provide an interface for the administrator to switch on and off lights in the library. The admin will also be able to maintain data about users, sensors and staff attendance. To implement this system, various pieces of equipment has been used. A Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ has been used to monitor and control the different devices and sensors. Wi-Fi has been used to provide wireless connection to use the application. Different testing scenarios have been carried out to determine the reliability in the system. Through testing was carried out to determine the reliability and responsiveness of the proposed smart Campus Library System.
