Radar systems from Robert Bosch are used in adaptive cruise-control systems that detect objects hundreds of meters ahead of a vehicle. These systems are designed to allow a vehicle to pull out into a passing lane while maintaining the selected speed of the vehicle. Most people, who have driven for a while using such a radar, don't want to give it up. It's projected that the number of users will continue to grow as this technology, which now adds about US$1,000 to the price of the car, becomes more affordable.
