Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Power Dispatch by Tri-generation

Abstract

The efficient utilization of available energy resources is very important since the global demand of energy is increasing very rapidly due to global population growth and economic development. Tri-generation is one of the methods to increase the efficiency of generation with available resources. It is also a better solution to reduce the pollutants emission from the power plants. A multi-objective optimization problem for tri-generation is discussed here. The main objective of this optimization is to minimize simultaneously the amount of fuel utilization and pollutants emission from tri-generation plants. The analysis are carried out using MATLAB simulations with fminimax-SQP algorithm. Such an optimization helps to schedule the operation of available plants in order to ensure efficient and environmental friendly power dispatch.
