A method for synthesis of fingerprint images is presented. Global features are condensed in a linear model whose parameters are generated according to the statistical distribution of natural fingerprint patterns. When the major types of global patterns are considered independently, these parameters display a normal behavior. Local features are generated applying iteratively a finite state filter to an initial image. Results show that it is possible to control the location of the minutia in constant orientation regions and that variable orientation regions generate minutia on their own.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 16 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
