As the important part of the comprehensive transportation service system, the intermodal passenger transport can bring the comparative advantage of all sorts of travel transportation into full play and improve the transportation efficiency and service standards. It is an important point of promoting the comprehensive transportation construction. With the surging demand in the economically developed areas such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Yangtze River Delta, the intermodal has taken a shape. However, since it is still left far behind the international standards in terms of passenger flow volume, operation pattern, and the level of passenger experience. The intermodal is still at a preliminary stage. Starting with the concept of intermodal, the writer will summarize the current situation and put forward the strategy for the healthy development of passenger intermodal by drawing the lessons from European intermodal and analyzing the bottleneck of the current problems. The aim is to enhance the relative system mechanism to promote the developmental pattern and fill the blank of the domestic research.
