Wireless sensor networks (WSN) have important applications in remote environmental monitoring and target tracking. Because limited energy resource of sensors nodes the optimization of energy consumption is very crucial. Different approaches based upon clustering are applied to reduce energy consumption allowing enhancing network life-time of the network. In this work, an improved approach for wireless sensor network based LEACH is proposed for homogenous networks. The proposed protocol used a CH selection by considering the remaining energy of sensor node in the probability to become CH. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm enhance the lifetime of the network and provide less energy consumption with more network stability by comparison to LEACH.
