In this paper, a detection algorithm for linear features based on the Radon transform (RT) and on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is addressed. Particular emphasis is put on the discussion of the fast algorithm for the RT implementation; the errors introduced by RT discretization and data interpolation are discussed, and counteractions are suggested. Moreover, a method for the determination of the endpoints of the detected segments is proposed.
