Research on Individual Pitch Control Based on Inflow Angle

Abstract

The pitch-controlled techniques for large scale wind turbine are deeply analyzed in this paper. Based on wind turbine aerodynamics, the basic law of pitch control is deduced, and a design of hydraulic pressure system of individual pitch control is introduced. The correlative theoretical calculation results are also analyzed. Using neural networks, a control strategy of individual pitch control based on inflow angle prediction is proposed. The simulation results show that it can effectively reduce the aerodynamic fatigue loads on blades, and its effect of power control is very significant.
