Synchronization between motion and music using motion graph

Abstract

Synchronization between motion and music is an interesting area in computer graphics however this part of work is difficult for generating automatically therefore it is usually done by an animators. Some research are synthesis or edit music to synchronize with motion data and some research are synthesis motion instead. In this paper, we present a scheme for synchronizing music with synthesized motion by using dynamic time warping to change the timing of both. Feature points of music file and motion data are extracted. Then, we pair and synchronize. We also use motion graph, which is a well known method for novice user, to generate long motions and fully automatic process of motion synthesis.
