Nowadays, energy demands are constantly increasing. In the current environmental and energy context, the Stirling engine as an external combustion engine represents a very interesting alternative to transform different heat sources (sun, wood, waste, gas…) into mechanical or electrical energy in an environmentally friendly way.It is also an excellent solution to replace a generator set or to produce electricity by cogeneration. Concretely, it is easy to imagine a wood or gas boiler that would produce both heating and electricity for the house. It is a solution that has already been introduced by a few small companies.
