A novel plastic optical fiber heating furnace for plastic optical fiber drawing tower

Abstract

This paper introduces the design of heating furnace with gradient temperature distribution for plastic optical fiber drawing tower. The heating furnace is of cylinder profile, and can be divided into five layers from outside to inside, that is, the shell layer, insulation layer, heating silk layer, buffer layer, and drawing layer. The furnace is equipped with three groups of temperature sensors, three groups of protection device, and gas ventilation furnace cover up and down. We also provide a special furnace heating design, which can provide a greater degree of increasing the stability of the optical fiber drawing and size control of optical fibers. The proposed design provides an ideal solution for the small size plastic communication optical fiber.
