In this paper, we present the design of a polarization insensitive metamaterial absorber (MMA) whose performance is maintained over a wide frequency range. The basic unit cell of a MMA consists of an electric electric-LC resonator and a square loop structure. By combining five unit cell structures with different geometric dimensions into a unit cell size, we obtain the extended absorbance bandwidth of a MMA. Simulation results show that the full width at half maximum absorbance bandwidth of the proposed MMA is up to 1.1GHz.
