Concurrent dual-band six antenna system for MIMO access points

Abstract

This paper presents a novel six antennas backed by a hexagon ground plane and broadside radiation for broadband dual-frequency operation. The antenna system mainly comprises an antenna ground plane and single-band antennas, among which the three antennas are designated for 2.4 and 5 GHz operation, The results show that well port isolation can be obtained together with broadband operation, good radiation characteristics and channel capacity. With a concurrent dual- band antenna backed by a hexagon ground, The experimental results show that good port isolation can be obtained between antenna ports. Details of a design prototype are described and discussed in the article.
