A Family of Zero-Voltage-Switching DC-DC Transformers

Abstract

A family of zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) dc-dc transformers is proposed in the paper. Utilizing the magnetizing current, all switches can realize ZVS independent of input voltage and load. A ZVS push-pull forward dc-dc transformer is used to illustrate the concept. The switches' ZVS condition is theoretically analyzed. Simulation and experimental results verify the analysis. And the experimental results indicate that it can achieve 95% efficiency at full load.
