Passivity based control of a DFIG wind turbine

Abstract

A novel passivity based control for the electric generator of a wind turbine is presented. Operating points are prescribed to this controller, to maximize generated electric power. The controller is designed using the non-linear model of the electric generator and it is guaranteed to have tracking properties for the electric and mechanical references. Simulation results show good performance of the control scheme for winds speeds in different operating regimes.
