We show that the Higgs resonance can be amplified in a 3-3-1 model with a multi-Higgs-boson ''lepto- philic'' scalar sector. This would allow the observation of the Higgs particle in muon colliders even for Higgs boson masses considerably higher than the ones expected to be seen in the electroweak standard model framework. @S0556-2821~99!02017-2# PACS number~s!: 12.60.Fr, 12.60.Cn, 13.10.1q, 14.80.Cp each process considered. The background itself depends on the process: it is formed by the n, g, and Z contributions for WW and by the g and Z ones for mm and bb. Once the ratio N S /AN B 5AL mm s h /As B and L mm , the muon-collider luminosity, depends only on the machine, we focus our attention on the model-dependent dimensional ra- tio d x5Sx /ABx5(s h /As B) x ~cm!, for x5mm,bb,WW .W e are aware that the luminosity is a function of the beam en- ergy: however, here we will consider a constant luminosity Lmm510 33 cm 22 s 21 510 fb 21 yr 21 for energies in the range 100
