The Savvidy ansatz of a covariantly constant background field in a Yang-Mills theory is used to calculate the one-loop quantum correction to the effective energy density in a supersymmetric gauge theory. This is done, with matter fields included, for the gauge groups SU(2), SU(3), and SU(4). The beta function is also calculated, and we find that asymptotic freedom is assured for less than 6, 9, and 12 flavors in SU(2), SU(3), and SU(4), respectively.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 7 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
