The statistical-theory predictions of the average spin of fission products, the dependence of spin on the bombarding energy, and the distribution of spin with respect to the fragment mass are compared with experimental results. Good agreement is obtained. The last one provides direct evidence that asymmetric fission is associated with higher density of quantum states and thus offers direct experimental proof of the statistical-theory explanation of asymmetric fission.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 1 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
