Abstract

UNA ELIZABETH WESTFALL, R.N., M.S.N., is assistant professor of nursing at Idaho State University. She previously worked as a staff nurse caring for patients after open heart surgery and participated in planning and conducting CCU courses for the Tulsa Heart Association. case it was to the coronary care unit. Two patients transferred from the CCU the day before were stable. Because of an emergency admission in the CCU, the third person had been transferred to the medical unit that noon. Prior to the move, he had been the most stable patient in the CCU, but it was stated during evening report that he was weak and unable to move
